Sunnubang — Our music, our voices.
Pan-African music collectiveAlgiers
01 · The name
Sunnu
Our.
“Sunnu” means “our” in Wolof.
Bang
Our band. Our energy. Our music.
Sunnubang speaks of our band: several voices, several histories, one wish to play together.
02 · How it started
We come from several places. We met in Algiers.
Students, several countries, several histories. Algiers is our meeting point: our paths crossed there, and music gave us a shared wish — to start a band.

03 · The collective
The story is starting.
The members will be revealed gradually. The first compositions, images and encounters will follow their own path. The collective is taking the time to build something that looks like it.
04 · Our sound
One Africa. Thousands of musics.
We explore African music and music that carries African influences. Without locking it into a genre. Without claiming to know it all.
