Fiction · A story being written

BAKOKO

Brazzaville, 2020Téké plateau, 1862· 158 years

The title is only explained at the end.

01The story

Brazzaville, 2020. One night, five friends, and at the end of a corridor a locked room. Inside, books.

What they contain is passed on only by word of mouth, and only to those judged ready. Someone wrote it down.

Téké plateau, 1862. Five children are born in five different villages. They grow up remembering nothing. Not yet.

The five are invented. The Téké kingdom is not.

02What stays closed

What the books contain, and what becomes of the five, will not be told here. The story will see to that.

03The film

Demonstration version · Synthetic voices

A short animated film of about ten minutes. A single picture, and three narration tracks timed to it: French, English, Arabic. I am making it with artificial intelligence tools.

It is not the adaptation of BAKOKO. It will first be used to test LOBAKA Picha, which pairs a single screening with several audio tracks: each viewer listens to their own on their phone.
